Marianne Kaplan is the founder and principal consultant of Kaplan Consulting Network. Throughout her long career as both an internal and external consultant, she has developed a strong reputation for identifying and designing solutions that lead to greater organizational effectiveness. She has consulted extensively in the areas of strategic planning, organizational design and effectiveness, diversity, leadership development & training, mergers and acquisitions, global and virtual team effectiveness, and culture change.

 

A particular strength is Marianne’s ability to work effectively with organizations of all sizes and across diverse industries. Recent projects have included working with a government system on the integration of diverse departmental cultures into a unified, cohesive organization; developing and implementing a comprehensive leadership development program for a multi-national manufacturing organization; designing and overseeing the implementation of a customized leadership training program compatible with the culture of a highly entrepreneurial, fast growing regional banking organization; and consulting with a major entertainment organization’s IT and Finance organizations as they transitioned from a centralized to a decentralized model as part of a corporate acquisition.

 

Additionally, Marianne provides individual leadership coaching services to executives in several organizations, dealing with issues ranging from individual effectiveness to strategic positioning. She is highly skilled in group process, facilitating multiple strategic planning, visioning, and team building sessions with diverse organizations, working collaboratively with organization leaders to provide customized sessions that achieve pre-determined goals.

 

A strong background as a senior Human Resource and Organization Development professional has resulted in an approach that is both pragmatic and client focused. Prior to founding Kaplan Consulting Network, Marianne held leadership roles at Covance, QVC, SmithKline, Exxon , and General Electric. Her unique background in both the quantitative and qualitative aspects of organizational effectiveness provides Marianne with an ability to effectively diagnose issues and recommend practical, effective solutions. Additionally, she has worked at developing leadership bench strength in several organizations by identifying critical leadership competencies, assessing current leaders against those competencies, creating development plans to address identified gaps, implementing those plans, and ensuring that effective talent acquisition plans are in place to augment competency gaps in existing leaders.

 

Marianne holds a Masters degree in Organization Development from American University’s joint AU/NTL program, and a Bachelor’s in Psychology from West Chester University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. She has a Professional Coaching Certification from New Ventures West and is also a graduate of the three-year training program in Gestalt Psychotherapy. Marianne is certified at both the Individual and Masters level for Achieve Global programs and is an approved independent contractor for PDI Ninth House’s Profilor Family of multi-rater feedback instruments. Additionally, Marianne’s credentials include certifications in Blessing-White’s Managing Personal Growth, Myers-Briggs Personality Type Indicator, Drexler-Sibbett Team Performance Model, NTL Team Building, FIRO/Element B, and FutureSearch.
